Sam’s Riverside Opens Terrace with Pommery Champagne

Ad - Overlooking the Hammersmith Bridge, the terrace boasts unmatched views of the Thames

Sam’s Riverside – the brasserie overlooking the river next to Hammersmith Bridge – has announced the reopening of its gorgeous terrace with incredible views of the Thames. In partnership with Pommery, the luxury Champagne brand, the terrace is the perfect place to sip on sparkling wine, enjoy some delicious food and capture the afternoon sunshine. Open Thursday 7th May.

The offerings from Pommery include the Brut Royal, Brut Royal Rose and the Louis Pommery England Brut. The Brut Royal comprises a traditional Champagne blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, making for an elegant and lively champagne with small notes of red fruits. The Brut Royal Rose is a delicate pale pink in colour, with a subtle rose character in taste. The Louis Pommery England Rosé from Pinglestone Estate in Hampshire, created in an assemblage method, the sparkline rosé captures the red fruit aromas of Pinot Noir, marrying them with the vibrancy of Chardonnay, the structure of Pinot Meunier and the texture offered by Pinot Gris, resulting in a vibrant, fresh sparkling rosé. Whether you like a traditional champagne or an English sparkling wine, the pour selection on the terrace offers an unparalleled experience for al fresco drinkers.

Of course, food will be available from Sam’s Riverside as well, with sun seekers being able to order the full Sam’s Riverside menu outside. Perhaps start with a classic oyster and champagne pairing, some of Sam’s famous Parmesan Churros or the delicious Dorset Crab Toasts. For mains, why not indulge in the Brixham Hake, Cockles, Sorrel Beurre Blanc or the Cornish Rump of Lamb, Wild Garlic. Of course, desserts are no afterthought, with the likes of a Warm Dark Chocolate Molten Cake or the Lemon & Elderflower Souffle on offer.

If bubbles don't take your fancy then other drinks will be available on the terrace. The cocktail list includes favourites such as the Yorkshire Punch (vanilla vodka, rhubarb, apple and sparkling wine), the Spicy Coconut Margarita (ocho blanco tequila, coconut syrup, habanero tincture and fresh lime) and the Mile High Club (gin, lychee liqueur, raspberry syrup, passion fruit foam), whilst the extensive wine list, hand-picked by Sam himself, includes a great variety of whites, reds and roses.

Having drinks by the river is one of the many highlights of the London summer, and the Sam’s Riverside Terrace with Pommery overlooking the Hammersmith Bridge is one of the great places to enjoy it.
