INFO GUIDE

2022-2023

Our Mission

At CTA Performing Arts we aim to create a performing arts family where students look on us as their second home. We want every child to be confident, happy and to discover the love of dance and the performing arts. Our goal is to nurture, guide, inspire and ensure every student reaches their full potential and to instil a lifelong passion for dance and the performing arts

Dear Parents

I am overjoyed to welcome you to the world of CTA which I established in 2008. We are a family business, run by myself and my husband Phil with a little help from our amazing world class teaching faculty and administration team!

As the mum to 9 year old twin boys, I want the best for them and also for every child who attends my amazing performing arts school. I firmly believe that a training in dance and drama is one of the best investments you can make for your child’s future and that the benefits are unlimited. Our training can be a wonderful aid in both scholastic endeavours and personal growth.

I have been fortunate enough to teach many students who came to CTA at 3 years old and graduated with us at 18. It is a joy and a privilege to have been part of their journey and to see the wonderful young adults they have become. All my graduates are now either at university or studying at performing arts schools.

With the inspiration, support and guidance of our talented teaching faculty, each CTA Performing Arts student is nurtured and developed to reach their full potential as performers and directed on a path of creativity, self-confidence, expression and individualism. We love making the CTA Performing Arts experience fun and enjoyable for our students as well as simple and stress-free for parents.

All our classes are well structured, fun and friendly and will help to improve many skills and qualities including co-ordination, rhythm, gracefulness, self-discipline, confidence, social skills, intelligence and physical fitness.

With classes running 7 days a week there is literally something for everyone. To ensure classes are suitable for those who attend, we offer a range of options across styles, age groups and abilities. Whether your child is aiming for a professional career and attends many classes each week or if a child attends one class a week, we have the classes and levels that are right for them.

The highlight of the year for many of our students are our Annual shows at Questors Theatre which take place in June 2023 where children as young as 3 can tread the boards.

We look forward to your child becoming part of our CTA Performing Arts family.

CTA Performing Arts - Where Great Memories Are Made.

Best wishes

FAQ

How do I enrol? You can enrol on line at www.ctaperformingarts.co.uk or by phone 020 8742 2861 or in person.

Can my child enrol once a term has started? Yes. We welcome new students throughout the year.

Is there a registration fee? Yes. New students registration fee £25 per child or £40 for siblings.

What happens if I enrol and my child does not like it? We recommend a child tries at least 3 classes before they decide if it is not for them. After 3 classes, your child can try another style. Alternatively, we will refund you the money less 2 classes and will give you the first class as a gift on us. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Does my child need to wear a uniform at CTA? Yes. All classes are required to wear the correct uniform. Uniforms may be purchased from Reception. You can book an appointment to be fitted for your uniform on 020 8742 2861.

Do I have to stay with my child during the dance lesson? Parents may stay in the dance studio for our under 3 years classes. For classes for children aged 3- 5 years parents may settle them in and then leave. We recommend that for the first lesson you remain close by, so that if your child gets nervous you are not too far away. You are welcome to peak through the door for the last 10 mins of your first few classes.

How do I know how my child is progressing? At the end of the Autumn term we hold a watching week, where parents can come and watch the last 20 minutes. At the end of the summer term, you will receive a Student Progress Report with feedback from the last year and guidance and recommendations from your child’s teacher for classes for September.

Does my child have to attend every week? Please let us know if you cannot attend by email or by phone. Missing odd lessons is fine, but arbitrary attendance means that a child gets left behind which disrupts the general quality of lessons for everyone else & is stressful to children who find that they are expected to do things they have not been taught.

Can children go to the toilet? Yes. Toilets are situated just outside each studio.

What performance opportunities are there? All dance students from aged 3-18 take part in our Annual Dance show at Questors Theatre, Ealing each June. All Musical Theatre students take part in our Annual Musical production in June at Questors Theatre. Students who attend both MT classes and dance classes take part in both.

Disneyland Paris Performance Team: Students aged 8+ may join our team to perform in their own show in a Disney theatre in Disneyland Paris in October half term 2023. Our 2022 DP team is full. Parents and families are welcome.

Where can I find out all the latest CTA News? Facebook Instagram Monday Minute Updates Monthly Newsletter

Exams can be taken in Ballet, Modern and Tap following the prestigious ISTD syllabus – at the higher levels the exams lead to UCCA points and the equivalent of A Levels. Students may also take LAMDA Speech and Drama and Acting.

Ballet exams may be taken from the age of 5 years & tap exams from 6 years. We endeavour to make our exams a wonderful experience for our dance students. We have a 100% exam pass rate with many distinctions.

What can you offer a child who would like to pursue a career in the performing arts? We offer a Dance Company Programme for students from aged 4 who wish to pursue a career in the performing arts or who have shown a talent or love of dance. Dance Company places are by invitation.

Do you enter Dance Competitions? Yes. Students who are part of our Dance Company can take part in dance competitions.

Referral Programme: If you refer a friend and they enrol, you will receive £25 credit towards fees. You will also be entered into our prize draw to win our CTA teddy. You can refer as many friends as you wish. Families referring 5 or more friends who enrol are entered into our prize draw to win one free class for the year – NEXT DRAW TAKES PLACE IN JUNE 2023.
