Hair Salon Owner Gaby Returns To His Professional Roots

Cavalleros: hairdressing and barber’s establishment with a difference

Hair stylist and salon owner Gaby is back on Chiswick High Road with a new venture, Cavalleros.

But this time he’s opened a hairdressing and barber’s establishment with a difference. Gaby’s son Sureno, a qualified and gifted tattoo artist has joined the business, to provide Chiswick’s first custom tattoo studio.

Cavalleros is Gaby’s third outing on the High Road. After completing his training, including an advanced course at Vidal Sassoon, he opened his first salon in 1981. Then, in 1992 he moved to his current location before taking a break in 2006 and sub-letting the premises.

“I wanted to try something new and I had acquired property in Spain,” he explains. “While I enjoyed the change, I’m pleased to be back in Chiswick and continuing my long association with the area. I’ve had a lot of loyal customers over the years and I look forward to seeing them again, as well as meeting new clients.”

Gaby has made a significant investment in the new business, and it shows. From the clean cream décor and gleaming polished wood floors to the custom-made workstations and 1950’s style chairs, Cavalleros oozes style and comfort. He takes pride in having sourced materials and equipment locally – the mirrors and hairdressing stations were made by J&R Precision Engineers – and from around the UK.

Having a tattoo studio on the premises adds a new dimension to the business. Sureno is an established tattoo artist, having worked in top studios in London. He specialises in unique and eye-catching designs created with precision and attention to detail.

Here are some of the many complements he has received from satisfied customers:

“The skill and detail he has put into my sleeve makes it truly unique. I regularly get stopped by strangers telling me how amazing my tattoo is. The studio is everything you could ask for: clean, professional and comfortable, with a great family feel about the place.”

“I travel all the way from Canada to get tattooed by Sureno, his work is the best there is and well worth the trip.”

“He will help guide you when needed, so you get exactly what you are looking for. The shop has a very traditional feel and works so well with the hair cutting side. I will be a frequent customer.”

“Superb standard of tattooing, the best you will find. Lovely premises, five out of five all the way.”

Obtaining a licence for tattooing required strict hygiene standards with which Cavalleros fully complies.

Gaby recognises that customers who work outside of Chiswick may not want, or be able to, wait until the weekend to get a haircut. Which is why he’s happy to open until 7pm.

Whether you want to get a trim, a whole new style or get that tattoo you’ve been promising yourself for ages, you can be sure of a warm welcome and skilled and friendly service.
