ARK Schools Opens Primary Academy In September In Acton

First "Outstanding" free school provider still has places available

ARK Schools, the network behind the UK’s first free school to be rated outstanding by Ofsted, still has nursery places available at its new primary academy on Acton Lane.

ARK Priory Primary Academy, which opens to pupils this September, will be led by Head Teacher Jacqui Steele, who set up the outstanding Ark Academy in Wembley in 2008.

Ms Steele said: “ARK Schools has a phenomenal reputation for our primary schools, demonstrated most recently by our neighbouring ARK free school, Hammersmith’s ARK Conway, securing the country’s first outstanding. My focus will be to ensure all ARK Priory pupils have access to a life-changing, quality education which equips them with the skills and confidence to thrive, inside and outside the classroom.”

The new school’s foundation curriculum focuses on children’s personal, emotional and social development as well as giving more time to literacy and mathematics. The school will also run breakfast clubs for all pupils, allowing parents to drop off their children early in the morning.

Of the 11 ARK schools so far inspected by Ofsted, ten are rated good or outstanding.
