Acton Lane To Close For Three Weeks

Rescheduled bridge works taking place over Easter holiday

Ealing Council has confirmed that the postponed works to the railway bridge spanning Acton Lane between Bollo Bridge Road and Fletcher Road will now take place over the school Easter holidays.

Network Rail was going to carry out the eight-week programme of works in January. However, Ealing Council refused the road closure, because of concerns over the short notice given to local residents and the disruption and delays it would cause.

Network Rail have now confirmed that the works will take up to three weeks to complete and they will be working overnight and at the weekend in order to try and finish within two weeks. In light of the longer notice given to local residents, and the shorter work programme, the council has agreed to close the road over the school Easter holidays while there is less traffic.

The section of Acton Lane between Bollo Bridge Road and Fletcher Road will now close on 29 March and reopen when the work is complete. Residents can call Network Rail’s 24 hour helpline on 08457 11 41 41 for more information.

Diversion routes will be in operation on surrounding roads and clearly signposted.
