Commuters form Putney are struggling as the SWT strike continues. This Tuesday morning (17 December) Putney's new MP was late to work due to the delays. ITV news crew were following and interviewing Fleur Anderson on her commute. We have asked Ms Anderson to comment (when she gets to the office!).
Residents are encountering long queues at the station with only one barrier open to restrict number on the platforms, however this is meaning travellers wanting to travel west cannot get to their platforms and are missing their trains.
Looks like a Putney community event is taking place. Great Tuesday start #rmtstrike pic.twitter.com/PlMWdOyxXj

The RMT have announced that they are to re-ballot their members over the industrial action which has been running since the beginning of the month and will continue through to the New Year unless suspended.@SW_Railway queues at Putney station absolutely ridiculous today. Only 1 barrier open because too many people trying to get to Waterloo, but people getting other trains on other platforms forced to miss them for no reason because they can’t physically get through the barriers. pic.twitter.com/wK2NNgIks5

A spokesperson for South Western Railway has advised that this is a one off issue due to problems with the District Line: "We’ve investigated this and understand that due to the District line closing down for a period of time, there was a very specific issue.
It is not normally an issue (usually it is managed as two separate lines) but this was very difficult to do today. Of course we will review and see how we can prevent this from happening in disruption again."
