Upper Richmond Road Disruption Likely to Continue

Emergency roadworks at junction with Roehampton Lane overrunning

Hopes that the traffic disruption in the west Putney and Roehampton area due to emergency gas repairs will be finished this week appear to be over-optimistic.

Originally it was expected that the work would be over today (Friday 9 February) but the latest prediction for full completion is now not until 16 February. Multi-way traffic light signals remain in place to manage traffic and Rocks Lane (A306) remains closed southbound.

A spokesperson for Cadent, the company carrying out the repair told PutneySW15.com, "We are continuing our work to repair gas mains in Upper Richmond Road and Roehampton Lane.

"To enable work to be carried out safely and efficiently multi-way traffic lights are being used to manage traffic.

"Currently we expect the work in Roehampton Lane to continue until Friday 16 February and the work in Upper Richmond Road to continue until Wednesday 14 February.

"We’re sorry for any inconvenience people may experience as a result of this essential work."

Substantial disruption is to be anticipated until the work is finished so you are advised to consider alternative routes.

Suspected gas escapes should be reported on 0800 111 999.
