Police marine unit retrieve missing man from the river
Paul Conte was missing since the early hours of Sunday
A body has been recovered from the River Thames near Putney Bridge and the police believe that it is that of 21-year-old Paul Conte who was reported missing earlier in the week.
The discovery was made when a Met Marine Policing Unit was called out a 7:07am on Wednesday 18 August to reports of the body of a men being seen floating in the river.
Although no formal identification has been made yet Paul’s next of kin have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.
Paul had not been seen since he left a party in Ferry Road, Barnes in the early hours of Sunday, 15 August. He was captured on CCTV cameras at around 12:40am and an appeal was issued to find him after he failed to return home to Putney.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
