Series of roadworks mean frustration for travellers
Traffic on both Fulham Road and Kings Road is at a standstill once again on Wednesday due to a series of roadworks in the area.
On Kings Road, there are roadworks at the junction with Maxwell Road, causing the westbound carriageway to be closed. Temporary traffic lights are in operation, with resulting delays in both directions.
There is causing gridlock on the Fulham/Chelsea borders which is made worse by traffic queues on the southbound road from Earls Court, and the northbound lane across Battersea Bridge and Chslea embankment.
These hold-ups at the eastern end of Fulham come on top of a number of works around Fulham Palace Road, which is causing very slow progress at the western end of the area. This morning, there are hold-ups due to works at the junction of Lillie Road and Munster Road, where there are temporary traffic signals in operation, at Fulham Palace Road and Silverton Road, where drivers are advised to approach the junction with caution as the traffic lights are out, Fulham Palace Road and Yeldham Road where the southbound carriageway is restricted to allow footway improvement works, and Yeldam Road is closed with a diversion into Biscay Road.
There are also continuing delays at the top of Fulham Palace Road at Hammersmith Broadway, where works to build a new slip road mean traffic restrictions are in place on both carriageways, and traffic is very slow moving.
