Nara - Turnham Green Terrace

Anybody tried this restaurant yet? I like the existing Thai restaurants in the area but its a type of food I eat a lot so would be keen to visit if it is up to scratch.

I'm going to guess that the fake reviews came as part of the package from the company that set up their social media presence. It seems to be such a common practice that it could be that there is no way round it i.e. you can't get good reviews without the visibility previous good reviews gives you.On the ethnicity of staff, it would be almost impossible for someone of Thai nationality to get permission to work in a restaurant in this country due to much stricter immigration controls. Minimum wage and modern slavery legislation also means the tradition of family members working in a restaurant is dying out.

Agree re the fake Google reviews. Been a couple of new openings in the area recently that suddenly have loads of obviously fake five star reviews. Has to make you wonder what else they might be lying about. If they are good, the positive reviews will come naturally. Also the couple of times I have had a look in, there doesn't appear to be anyone of Thai heritage working there, which is another thing that has put us off trying it.

We went a couple of weeks after it had opened, so the team still finding its feet. Service friendly. Cuisine more of an interpretation of Thai than the real deal (which is fine if you prefer a watered-down experience). Service friendly and upbeat.Dozens of fake Google reviews a bit of a turn off.

I agree with you about Nara except that it is much bigger than 15 covers it must be about 40

We dined at Nara last Friday and we were delighted.Service was polite & friendly. The room is small, about 15 covers,  but  spacious, airy and spotlessly clean. Our drinks order was taken as soon as we had settled at our table , while we chose what to eat.Food was deliciously fresh, fragrant and exquisitely prepared and presented. They certainly have a good and experienced chef.  It all means I’m keen to go again.  The bill was simply good value. Overall, a pleasant & positive experience.Don’t take any notice of Coyle, an ignoramus cannot communicate sense or expression.
