SCR yellow box - ChisChoke update

Another triumph in our ongoing patriotic Brexit-inspired campaign to clamp down on freedom of movement within W4. The new yellow box was instrumental yesterday in creating very significant delays all the way down SCR one way, and back to the Porsche garage the other - maybe 45 minutes, if not 60! The forthcoming closure of SCR southbound for some aimless hole-digging will take this to the next stage!

It seems you are correct. I was misled by AI (you never know when you can trust it!). But certainly, other than revenue, I can see little good reason for the boxes.

The article on this site announcing the operation of the box junctions states Hounslow as the enforcement authority. The council is on record this year saying it intends to raise an extra £5million from ‘traffic enforcement’ to plug a hole in its budget. Can you quote a reliable source for your statement that SCR from Heathfield Terrace to the A4 is a red route?If it was a red route I though there needed to be signs to indicate this, also there wouldn't be yellow line markings on it.

I don't think that can be the explanation. SCR from Heathfield Terrace to the A4 is a red route. The revenue from PCNs would go to TFL, not Hounslow.

I really don't know what all the fuss is about. Barrowgate/SCR is my route from home out West. I haven't yet experienced any problems following the painting of the yellow boxes. On the other hand, I don't understand the necessity for them. I never had a problem turning left out of Barrowgate - southbound traffic on SCR usually left the space clear, or if it wasn't clear, the next car in the queue would often wait to move off when the queue cleared the junction. And people turning left out of Barrowgate East would often give precedence to drivers turning right out of Barrowgate West. Much ado about nothing on all sides?
