It’s a wild mouse.

Thank you, Anne, that’s kind of you to say, and reassuring to hear.

You aren't being pathetic at all. Hope you are feeling at least a little better now. You did your best.

Thank you. I know I’m being a bit pathetic but I can’t help it. It was just such a cute little thing and I really wanted it to survive.
Sorry to hear that, Jill. I'm not sure how long it takes for a mouse to be weaned but it may be that without nourishment from its mother it could not survive.

I felt sad the day my goldfish died oovernight on 24th July 1980. I had won it at a fair in Turnham Green and had taken great care in feeding it and changing the water over several months. When I got to work that morning I greeted my work colleagues with the news- "He's died you know".They responded with "We Know".I replied how they knew. They thought I was talking about Peter Sellers death announced that morning.

My cat used to bring them in and let them go to catch later, I had mouse traps to catch them before he did and let them go, if you give cats a late evening meal they don't go hunting and bring them in.

It’s just died. I did my best to save it. I know it’s only a mouse to some people, but to me it was a living creature that deserved life. I feel ridiculously sad and upset. 😢
It’s way too tiny to let out. I’m trying to give it liquid from syringe. Any more ideas as to what to do?
If it was nesting in your house or garden and you release it nearby it will come back. If you want to release it into the wild best to take it to a park at least half a mile away from your home.

Give it some water and let it go.
