ITN NEW AT 10.00

Very strange top of the news headline on the issues in Belfast this evening. Just showed a small fire in the street in daylight. Ive been watching live pictures from AP News from the helicopter, and I see multiple locations with houses completely ablaze. Firefighters banging on the doors of other properties, along with civilians. And ive seen people living next to a house totally ablaze only coming out of the house onto the road as it's the fireman at the door and not youths. Just very strange reporting, or lack of, of what is actually happening.  No idea about the other news chs

Agenda free TV on YouTube is what I watched.The guy who runs it came on air and saidwe will hopefully have live helicopter footagesoon from AP News. "I can't just take people's footage" aor words to that effect, I and I'm awaiting the thumbs up from them.Then came the email from AP and weWent live from the helicopter for about3 hours. On balance I think I will go for the BBC not being willing to pay the Associated Press's licensing fee for the helicopter footage rather than a conspiracy to keep us in the dark about what is happening.Other videos of events in Belfast at the moment that some people will be seeing on social media, can't simply be republished by a reputable news organisation - they need to be verified and appropriate permission has to be secured. This means the BBC in the early stages of trouble will have to get most of its material inhouse from a local news team which has probably been seriously reduced in size over previous years.Talking to a friend of mine who did cover the area previously and lived there for a while, she says that the reporting on the recent events is far more extensive than that of the riots that took place in 2021 which were much bigger in scale.

'Under reporting' of events quite often happens on the BBC as well in my opinion,as quite often other news sources have quite different takes on issues.I wonder why.
