So much for the Met Office weather map

Next 2 hours light rain showers. How blooming so wrong can you get

To be frank when I read this I feel the council is beating me! I admire the younger people who realise what's going on!

Council spokesperson: "We are aware of a suspected lightning strike....".  As opposed to what?  A very late V2 rocket?

Our youngest is sitting his A Levels at Kew House, opposite the row of shops that were affected by the lightning strike. Yesterday his History exam had just finished and the invigilator had just said "Okay, pens down" when they heard a huge explosion. Lots of rubble on the street and the roof was on fire apparently so it's amazing that nobody was hurt.Luckily the lightning waited until the exam was finished.No mention of thunderstorms in the weather forecasts ...

I look at BBC, Met Office, UK Weather Radar (sourced from the Weather Company), and one listed as Weather Bug.Can't say any one is more accurate, although the radar is probably the best for short term.My grandson is on a round the world sailing race at present, currently just passing through the Panama Canl, then bound for Washington DC and Oban before return to Portsmouth, so I am keeping an eye open. (Hurricane app)The hurricane season is only just beginning so hopefully they will miss that.  Not so sure of passing close to Cuba if JT starts yet more stupidity.  I fear he might as he can maybe beat the Cubans where he is failing vs Iran, and proclaim yet another triumph

Well I use the met office appon the mobile and it's prettyreliable and precise by the hour. But how it managed to miss thatstorm is strange. The BBC weather is absolutely rubbishbut they scrapped the data from the Met Office down to moneysavings. I remember when Teletext and ceefax had source both being the met officebut both had varied forecasts. Not surehow that works out.

Very interesting, I do agree with you. I don't know whether you agree but I notice the weather on a mobile phone seems nearer the mark? Also if you have a barometer, looking at it daily is very interesting in what you find.
