Whatever your normal political allegiance, an outstanding councillor deserves voting for. I, and local friends, have found Councillor Amy Croft to be an intelligent, caring and extremely effective councillor.  She is exceptional.

Well it looks like some of the forum brains trust who predicted that the news about Rick Rowe being verbally abused by David Giles would backfire on Rowe were on the money yet again...I believe that Rowe until recently had a fairly senior position in TfL so potentially a useful person to have as an elected representative.

They be housed in areas that vote Green or Labour as they love them. So much so shouldn’t complain about it.Many people who vote Reform have genuine concerns regarding asylums and the illegals and it was very presumptuous for you to assume otherwise.

Mercifully, peace seems to have broken out on that front. At one point, the merest mention of Cllr Biddolph's name would be enough to summon a gaggle of her contractors repeating stuff about 'cherrygate' but they seem to be laying off. Bridget Osborne's newsletter recently gave prominent and due credit to Cllr Biddolph's casework record which was a welcome change from previous editions which had been used as a weapon in the ongoing feud. Hopefully this is a dawn of a kinder, more constructive tone to local politics.

Keeping to local issues, and to balance the noise concerning candidates I have given one of my three crosses against Joanna Biddulph who has a reputation for upsetting a few people, but is an honest, hard working counsellor.Incidentally, the one decision Sir Keir got absolutely right was to become a life-long Arsenal supporter. It is sad to veer off always onto relentless negativity. And of course, there is plenty to be negative about. But there are a few good individuals in this difficult world, like Amy Croft, who take time and trouble to benefit our lives, and who deserve to be appreciated.

That in itself makes her not very diligent or exceptional at all. She has chosen to remain in the Labour Party despite all of its failings over the last two years and despite the Labour leadership chaos at Lampton House. If she had any scruples she would have quit the party in disgust and stood as an independent instead of affiliating herself with Labour Party a minute longer.

Although today's elections should be all about local issues many voters will relish the chance to display their feelings towards the government's incompetence in running the country; the lies, the U turns, green subsidies, scrapping Rwanda, rising welfare, excess borrowing, believing immigrants rights more important than our own kith and kin, oh I could go on.

Up to 1,900 Labour councillors and 800 Tory councillors are likely to lose their seats today. Some of them will be useless and incompetent but a large number will be diligent and experienced. If you talk to any councillor who takes their role seriously, they will tall you that a significant proportion of their casework load is taken up by housing issues. Even if their replacements are committed and prepared to put the hours in, they will not have the experience of their predecessors. The chances are that many will not have the inclination to learn about the dull workings of local government and will be more interested in sloganising. The experience so far has been that councils run by Reform have become dysfunctional very quickly.The irony is that the people hardest hit by this loss of expertise are from groups most likely to vote Reform or Green. People are entitled to vote for whichever way they want but, they have to accept any poor outcomes are their responsibility.

Well,to win the most seats overall its as follows Reform 1/50 Labour 40/1 Greens 70/1 Cons  70/1 Lib Dems  200/1 So short are reform,they are 34/1  to be second in the number of seats won

Not sure about the wider political "debate" but as a resident in Chiswick Riverside I think Amy Croft has been a terrific councillor and I really hope that is recognised by other residents in the ward and she is reelected.

Not sure I would be accurately described as a champagne socialist but there have been locations near my home in which asylum seekers have been housed in the past and I have no issue if that proved to be necessary again.The question you were asked was where in Chiswick Riverside ward would the party you support place asylum seekers? You responded with name calling so I'll ask you again and the lack of a substantive answer will confirm that you haven't really thought this true.Rather than advocating Trump-style vindictiveness in policy, someone who genuinely had concerns about our country, our culture, running it properly and putting the British first would be considering measures that could address the abuse of the asylum appeals system which is the primary reason we have so many people in this country who shouldn't be.

Surely it’s just a dead cat to distract from the Farage £5 million and the house in Clacton?Doing any such thing would be - to start with - illegal.But also wholly impractical. Camps for 20,000 people in Chiswick, Hackney or Brighton because they didn’t vote Reform? Oh come on… credit the electorate with some sense.

I have never been a committed voter to any party. But in the more than 30 years that I have lived in Grove Park, Amy Croft has been by far the best councillor here, much better than any of the others. She really went out of her way to help me, and has done the same for other people that I know. She is accessible, holds a monthly surgery in Elmwood Road, and is very hard working. Regardless of party politics I really hope that we keep her, as said before she is exceptional.

Chiswick has housed 'illegals' or asylum seekers during the period when there was the biggest backlog in the system although, as I understand it those venues are no longer used and were in Chiswick Homefields ward. There was no noticeable uptick in local crime in the area while this was happening and nobody was particularly bothered.Let's assume that Chiswick Riverside does elect Green councillors and we have a Reform administration after the next election, which locations in the ward would the government use to host the asylum seekers?

If you vote Reform in the Chiswick Wards you will only increase the chances of returning a Labour Councillor to represent you. Do not shoot yourself in the foot.The Conservatives are the only constructive alternative to Labour in Hounslow. They ran Hounslow in the not too distant past and made many sensible changes that Labour has not reversed.

Also if Green win the local seat, and Reform win overall in government they will make sure to house illegals in Chiswick so be careful what you wish for with Labour or Greens unless you happy to have it in Chiswick.  Then don’t complain if your wife, daughter, mother gets hounded or a victim of crime from the lot you wanted here.

While it is difficult to believe that Reform could do a worse job of running LBH than Labour, the proof of the pudding would be in the eating - and I think if they managed to win control of the council residents would soon be regretting it.

I don't think either party is intrinsically bad but both are essentially protest parties who aim to move the needle of debate rather than have any real attempt to take charge.The reality of government is hitting home in the bond markets right now with the yield premium on gilts compared with the Eurozone at 2% the highest this century. The markets fear a really bad result for Labour increases the chance of the ousting of Starmer/Reeves and the replacement with a new leader making promises that he or she won't be able to keep. It also raises the prospect of a future weak coalition government dependent on the support of either Greens or Reform which will be incapable of staving off the looming crisis.The markets aren't going to be moved by whether or not the people of Chiswick Riverside vote for Amy Croft but people should bear in mind that those that we have borrowed lots of money off are looking closely at these elections.

Haven't come across a single person who has had a bad word to say about her and she has clearly been diligent in her work for her constituents. If she has completed nearly 400 pieces of case work in the last two years and all those people she helped vote for then she may be safe but the broader trends seem to be working against her.Chiswick Riverside is a traditionally high turn out ward and if you assume half of those are people who take enough interest in what councillors and councils do to be aware of her diligence - she should perform relatively well with that kind of voter. However, the other half will be low information voters with busy lives who turn up as a civic duty and vote as a proxy for the way they would in a general election. Among these, her party's unpopularity will count against her and the Greens will take away more of her support than the Conservatives will lose to Reform.Objectively the three incumbent councillors in this ward deserve to retain their seats but that looks unlikely at the moment. The only hope is that the ridiculous behaviour of one of the Green candidates cuts through to voters who don't normally consider the suitability of individual councillors.
