Lawless London

For the second time in successive nights I have been walking my dog on the CHR and seen a youth, dressed in black, hood up, mask on, riding an electric bike, pointing a torch in the back of a car… clearly looking for goods to steal… brazenly going from car to car before scooting off at speed… is this where London has got to? Surely govt can provide more police resource and local authorities some sort of deterrent for these scumbags?

Agree Jim, I remember Greggs employing someone as doorman, anyone unwanted never got in.

I visited the mega Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford, East London yesterday and noticed a massive increase in yellow uniformed Security Staff on duty. Also a few police and a sniffer dog. Possibly 100 in total. From where had they all been recruited and made available?On enquiring I was told that the West Ham Football Club now play their matches next door at the Olympic Area ... and that "today they are playing Everton". And many of the crowds walk through the Shopping Centre ...noisily and often can be... a threat to the shops and customers.If the our local Police haven't the personnel available ...why can't private enforcement staff not be provided?Local life seems to have reached that stage.

We have very few police compared to say France. I read another 50000 to 80000 officers would be needed to bring us up to their number per head of the population.
