My cat has decided she no longer likes the brand I've been buying for her. This leaves me with a fair few boxes of Felix 'Soup'. Sainsbury's used to have a box for cat food donations but it isn't there anymore. Anyone know where might accept donations of this sort? Thanks.Gone are the days cats would have to fend for themselves and catch a mouse for dinner!

Well, what do you expect from a cat called Layla ?Funnily enough that song is why she got called Layla, I was reading a biography of Eric Clapton when we got her! And Layla was a Persian princess by all accounts, and Clapton wrote it for Patti Boyd who was married to George Harrison at the time. As the RSPCA had named the cat 'Hettie' we thought our choice was a much better alternative. And she certainly IS a princess.

One of my cats was called Jade because of its beautiful green eyes, thenfound out it was a boy and changed it to Jay.

As an update, Protective Paws didn't respond to my email, so the lot went in the recent Chiswick car boot fair (another story for another day) for £5. Good to know the collection box is still in Sainbo's, Stephen, thank you. And to Keith, HAWS turned me down because they imagined some horror would come to any cat they gave me. The cat I went on to get (off Gumtree) is still terrorising me 11 years later.

Unfortunately we lost our dear Gracie almost two years ago, she was only nine too. We were absolutely heartbroken, hence the current resident is almost a carbon copy of her, and that's where it stops! Layla is an RSPCA rescue and a real madam!
Their objection would be danger to the cat presumably. I did have a woman visitor from HAWS once when I was considering having a cat. She was very pleasant but did seem somewhat dubious about the very average road out front - there are plenty of exploring opportunities out back and two cats had survived living here in the past.

Is that Gracie by any chance? She always was partial to a Dreamie - her drug of choice. If so, it must be longer than two years.
Our prima donna has decided although she will eat Sheba if she really has to - but she'd far rather we fed her Dreamies - Catnip flavour. I get the paw and the death stare, until I give in. They really are the most infuriating animals there are, we still are unable to pick her up after nearly two years, everything, but everything is on their terms, staff please note! Needless to say she is spoilt rotten.

I am just casually browsing this thread.I don't have a cat, lovely as they are,but why would HAWS object to Gordon living near the Underground?

Hi Gordon,Late to this; it’s just been brought to my attention. The Sainsbury’s pet food collection box is still in store, but it’s been moved towards the unused exit near the frozen food section. Just for future reference, if you need it.

I've emailed Protected Paws animal rescue (HAWS sniffily turned me down in the past because I live by the Underground!).

Protected Paws animal rescue please. Not HAWS.

Local food bank? Lots of people are struggling to feed their pets. Otherwise Hounslow Animal Rescue might collect if there is a fair amount.

Awkward creatures..Surely not ;-)

My cat goes off a particular food for a month or so and then rediscovers it with renewed interest once she has gone off the latest other thing I bought. So you might want to give it a couple of months.. Awkward creatures..

Email volunteer@haws-animals.org.uk they might collect. I think Pets At Home has a food collection box
