We found Age UK helped us by finding someone to offer to accompany my blind FIL to find his way through a hospital to visit my MIL when we were unable to do so as often as he wanted to visit. (In fact he never actually needed to take up the offer but he felt better knowing there was someone from the British Legion who had offered to do this - and so did we.)Visiting hairdressers, beauticians, podiatrists and manicurists etc can really help raise the spirits when you are stuck at home or recovering from illness.
