I was on EE mobile and got no spam calls, but switched to o2 and started getting them. Not for everyone, but if you have a Pixel phone, it has a function called call screening, which blocks all robocalls and unknown calls and spam calls. When i say block, it stops your phone from ringing but takes the call in the background. All calls taken are recorded in a transcript. When you go to look under spam calls, all calls that had speech on the other end are in text, and you can click on the icon, which notifies you that something was said to read. Spam call list received is separate from the normal calls received. It's very good and I get nothing ringing my phone now. It also seems that Google's database and screening know what is spam, what is pre-recorded or the location instaantly. "Google Call Screen is a feature powered by Google Assistant that answers incoming calls on your behalf to identify who is calling and why, allowing you to avoid spam and manage unknown numbers" Key Features of Call ScreenReal-time Transcription: When you tap "Screen call," the Assistant answers, asks for the caller's name and purpose, and displays a live text transcript.Automatic Screening (Pixel 6 and newer): Your phone can automatically screen unknown numbers, identifying and hanging up on spam, robocalls, and telemarketers without ringing your phone.Manual Screening: If you prefer, you can tap "Screen call" when a phone rings to have the Assistant handle it.Actionable Responses: Based on the transcript, you can choose to pick up, hang up, or ask follow-up questions (e.g., "Is it urgent?").
