Just for one evening why not forget all about Rotten politicians, Blocked drains, Hammersmith bridge which is beautiful but useless, the High Road dissembled by islands and cycle lanes- watch the 6 Nations, here one day early to avoid clashing with the Winter games opening ceremony in Milan tomorrow night.Enjoy the Parisian occasion, great pyrotechnics, elite sportsmen and the magic of Antoine Dupont.Ireland's Chances? A great side showing signs of wear and tear. Bonus point a possibility.Best place to watch the match? (if I could be tempted to stray from my comfy lounge) would be The Hound, back bar- Big screen, plenty of chairs, own bar away from condensed main area next door, Unisex and Disabled loos just a step away.Should you decide to watch, enjoy a swift glass or two, and enjoy the game.

I can see the appeal from ITV and Samsung's point of view. Quite clever really advertising a folding-screen phone by splitting the broadcast image. However from the viewers' side of the equation - what an absolutely dreadful thing to do.Stand by for even worse to come as the TV/streaming outfits scramble over the last crumbs of ad revenue. I share an Amazon Prime sub. with my daughter. During the commercial breaks (avoidable if you pay more) Amazon now put a little box on the screen which is linked to your Amazon account and offers the chance to order whatever product is being advertised direct from your armchair. All it takes is one click and it's yours - or in my careless case, the account holder's. I had to call my daughter and tell her that unbeknown to her, she had just purchased a multi-pack of Fairy Liquid - or whatever it was - and she now needed to log in to her Amazon account to cancel it. It is quite possible to not notice that you have even done this.Insidious or what?

Split-screen intervention showing adverts during play I can do without.France undoubtedly were the better team as the scoreboard indicates, but Ireland were understandingly peeved with Les Bleus getting away with two forward passes and a dubious knock-on, all three instances leading to trys and escaping referee and TMO scrutiny.

Split screen during the games on ITV for adverts. Mind you, not as bad as the football World Cup. ITV have a purpose-built studio high up overlooking the New York skyline. Featuring Laura Woods,Mark Pougatch, Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Ian Wright. BBC until the quarter finals will be from a studio in Salford, featuring Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan and Kelly Cates. Quarters onwards feature Lineker, Shearer, richards. Someone strapped for cash?
