'Our cat once brought a duck in through the first catflap'I thought we were the only ones this had happened to - we had a fairly small black fluffy cat - Lenny - who was a real expert mouser and loved to get over to the local allotments. One morning we got up to find our back room looking like a fight had taken place, pieces of china all over the floor and a bloody Magpie flying around in panic. Lenny, and we will never know how, had caught the poor bird and dragged it in through the flap, it managed to get away, and in its panic had also managed to fly into a shelf where I had some collectible plates, smashing several in the process. I had awful problems trying to replace them, and my husband said we should claim on the household insurance. Thinking about that I thought - who on Earth would even believe that tale? Fortunately we had a roof window so were able to get the Magpie out without injury, how that cat did it we have no idea, the Magpie was huge and Lenny was really quite small, so glad to hear we were not the only people to have a barmy moggie.
