Waymo comes to Chiswick
I spotted a Waymo driverless car on Acton Lane a few days ago - a Jaguar E-Pace. Just to check my eyes weren't deceiving me, I looked up what the company is doing in the UK and they are indeed running trials locally. They are taking place in Ealing Borough not Hounslow so you won't see them on the High Road. There will currently always be human safety staff onboard while they run the trials but it looks like the car is driving autonomously unless they intervene. No date given for when the service is commercialised but it is already operating in LA and San Francisco.
