Wow So many of them people can’t get to their own bikes

this infestation is everywhere , by Shepherds Bush station is horrid as well ,  You can't even walk

I’ve always assumed that hire  bikes left on pavements blocking pedestrian access etc is just the normal intentional anti social behaviour we have come to expect from cyclists. It’s commensurate with their non compliance of the Highway Code and respect for other road users.

I always thought it suspicious that Lime bikes don't seem to have vans with 'LIME BIKES' written all over them to go round and move their stock around. Why do they prefer to sneak about and do it anonymously? I suspect it's because, as well as picking bikes up, they purposely put them in obvious places like street corners as advertising for all to see.  That's the only explanation I can think of for some bikes neatly left diagonally across a pavement corner where even the most irresponsible user is unlikely to ever leave them.

You've had a debate with Jeremy Parkinson on another thread as to whether the contract with Forest and VOI excludes any possibility of Lime bikes returning to Hounslow, and being able to park in Hounslow.You quoted ‘The Concession acknowledges that in entering into this Agreement no form of exclusivity is granted by the Council, and the Council is at all times entitled to enter into similar contracts with other operators in relation to the same or similar Services’Now how might one ( and more importantly other interested parties) interpret the word 'similar'?Does similar mean that if the council really were allowed to enter a similar contract with Lime, the money paid by Lime would have to be the similar? If so, Hounslow can ask but still can't force Lime to pay more than they wanted to pay originally, and equally, Forest and Voi might well have an opinion if Lime were to be allowed to submit a contract where Lime pays a lot less than Forest and Voi did.

I've seen a van taking lots of lime bikes from opposite Turnham Green station - I'd presume it's a van operated by Lime to try and redistribute their fleet.

Not true, Andrew. Hounslow has the ability to fix things.From the front page:Questions have also been raised about a statement made by Cllr Dunne to The Chiswick Calendar in which she categorically says the borough is now bound to continue with Voi and Forest. However, a clause in the contract with Voi and Lime states, ‘The Concession acknowledges that in entering into this Agreement no form of exclusivity is granted by the Council, and the Council is at all times entitled to enter into similar contracts with other operators in relation to the same or similar Services’.And so does Ealing. Hammersmith has repeatedly changed the Lime boundaries over the years. Often from one day to the next. This same situation occurred at Goldhawk/St Peter's Square. Now you aren't able to leave a bike any closer than the designated bay at Ravenscourt. Which means if you have no choice but to take a Lime toward Chiswick you then have to walk from Ravenscourt to get another bike at Netheravon. Moronic doesn't begin to describe it. Goes completely against the intent of spending millions upon millions on cycle lanes.

The problem ( with the situation in Woodstock Road at least) is that Hounslow Council may not have the ability to rectify the mess that their actions have resulted in.If Hounslow have tied their own hands and are now unable to allow Lime Bikes to be parked in Hounslow, then it would be Ealing Council who would have to deal with the mess in Woodstock Road.What a shambles.

Sorry to be pointing this out again, but there is more at  stake here than many people realise. However it looks like finally something might be done. I noticed this flood of lime green bikes across from TGT Station and also alongside St Michael’s church.  The ones alongside the church are parked taking up 2 to 3 residential parking spaces and well outside the designated area.What is worse is that people returning bikes simply add theirs to the western end thereby blocking the pedestrian access to and from Woodstock Road.  This is a serious hazard to the wide variety of people passing through.  It is an important access point and the blocked drop down kerb is vital for the many people who use wheelchairs, have mobility issues, families with small children on scooters, bikes, push chairs and prams.Those leaving bikes all over the place are oblivious to the eyesore and danger they are creating for the local residents.Hounslow Council needs to examine the permissions they have granted to ensure that safety issues and the impact on this conservation area are properly addressed and complied with.
