Pay by phone parking

Hey  got a problem with the app. Unable to put carer reg in when they visit. It has an unknown reg coming up which can’t be changed arghhh. Carers can’t afford fines. Anyone have a fix. Been ‘chatting’ with the AI but it’s as useless as a chocolate teapot. App worked fine yesterday

Hillingdon overcome that problem by giving the person receiving care a card to place in the car of whichever carer was visiting.

All sorted. Just a nightmare juggling 5 Allowed regs as multiple carer obviously arrive in different cars

I've never had any problems either, Steve. The good old days? Carrying a ton of change to feed into the meter? Painstakingly entering your registration into a machine only to be fined because you input O instead of 0, or vice versa? Realising that your errand will take longer than you thought so having to dash back to buy more time?

I’ve had the same problem. Although I had a valid permit in place, I had to reapply for a permit with proof of address. It is now working again.

And all councils should be forced to use the same one. I have two, PayByPhone and Ringo, but have visited towns where I was expected to download yet another.

I use apps for parking - they mostly make my life easier than the alternatives available, however I have a few caveats.Firstly it should still be straightforward to be able to park somewhere without needing to be able to access an app - and that isn't always the case, so introducing an app is something that can make difficulties for non-app users, as the introduction of an app then paves the way for non-app users to lose their ability to park where they previously could. The other thing is that apps should make it crystal clear exactly what you are 'booking' i.e. reg, location, expiry time, and the app also highlights when you don't complete a booking.

I like Apps. I especially like the bus App which tells me when the bus is due instead of having to stand at the bus stop and wait like a lemon. I also like my banking App. The gym App allows me to book classes quickly and easily. I could go on but just 'not liking Apps' seems a bit niche.

Yep, deleting Apps and reloading usually fixes any blips but also, just switching off your phone and rebooting sometimes does the trick. You may want to try that first.

Delete the app and reload it. Worked for me for a few apps I had problems with.
