Booming bass noise in Grove Park

Not sure if it's coming from Chiswick House or Gunnersbury Park, but annoying - I wonder when it stops? Had hoped for 10pm but that's past some time ago

Alot depends on wind direction. We heard it clearly Saturday and Sunday in Acton Green but friends of ours in Ealing, who are much closer to the park heard nothing. In previous years estimated wind direction has been published so that you would at least be forewarned, it would be helpful if that was continued.We managed to eat out in the garden on Saturday and tried to drown out the noise with a Spotify summer in the garden play list. It didn't work all the time but it wasn't a huge problem. However, I fully appreciate that if you live much closer, it could potentially be unbearable.

Yeh its a nightmare, can barely hear the planes flying over or the M4 with all this racket

At the forum the chap from Festival Republic stood his ground in the face of some spirited local opposition, but as Julian says both the organisers and the council do seem to be operating within the rules. It's a tough call but these days cash is king and every oportunity has to be exploited to pay for the upkeep of amenities like Gunnersbury and Chiswick House. Earplugs are reasonably cheap and anyway last night, having dinner in the garden on a lovely summer's evening we could hardly hear the music for the racket from the damn planes!

Don't forget, everyone had a chance to voice a complaint at the area ward forum a month or so ago. I think about 15 people turned up? If you watch the debate online, you see that they are operating within the guidelines and very little you can do as the council supports this in a way of raising money as long as the guidelines are kept to

Complain to your councillors and keep complaining.We understand that the Park needs to raise money for its maintenance but this summer's concerts have been too frequent, too loud and too disruptive.

Good to see tonight's offering includes local band White Lies.  I'd wondered where they'd got to!Surely it depends on the weather how far and which direction the sound travels.At the Jazz Festival we were surrounded by Brand New Heavies fans who knew the words to their songs.  It seemed to be a really great local get together of local youth of a certain age.I certainly know someone who if they didn't like it would just take their hearing aids out!'

There was a proposal many years ago to build houses down the south-east side of Lionel Road but it would have meant the felling of dozens of mature trees and was rejected.

'No one wanted it sold off for housing..'I'd have thought they could easily make some money by continuing a run of houses, or even low rise flats, down the east side of Lionel Road N, backing onto the park, without causing too much of an intrusion. Anything to stop our parks being used for so many noisy, commercial activities.

It's all to fund the Park remaining, no one wanted it sold off for housing etc.,so you must take that into consideration, possibly ask for noise level to be reduced but the events are now necessary.  I would prefer an old style fairground, but probably wouldn't be that profitable.

"Gunnersbury Park and Hounslow Council have implemented noise monitoring measures to manage sound levels during events at Gunnersbury Park. These measures include setting noise thresholds, employing acoustic specialists, and utilizing technical officers from the council to monitor noise levels during events" They say they are within the guidelines and quite frankly, not much one can do unless those from the council monitoring the noise levels on site agree at a point that the noise levels are above 75 dB(A) over a 15-minute period. This is within the park and does not include noise levels outside. While you can hear the base and it's annoying, it would come not even close to the 75 db as a limit.

I have mixed feelings about these events - I guess if they were free to attend and no-one was making any money off the back of an enormous number of residents being forced to listen to really loud music I'd feel a bit better about it.  If you'd like to register a company: you can email at Gunnersbury.locals@festivalrepublic.com or telephone their noise complaints number at the time on 02037810001Tonight it is due to end at 10.30 and Sunday at 10pm although last night was also tagged at finishing at 10pm... so we shall see.

It's coming from Gunnersbury Park.Hundreds of young women descended on the park this afternoon to enjoy the sounds orchestrated by a DJ.If sitting alongside GenZ in the middle of sunny Gunnersbury Park isn't your thing this weekend, try instead looking into the excellent, revamped History museum in Gunnersbury Park.Only get there before 3pm before the noise starts.
