Bedford Park Stores

I notice that the large building next to the Tabard appears to be standing empty. Certainly the ground floor is unoccupied. For a long time it seemed to be home to a company dealing in spectacle frames. Long before that of course it was originally (as the name suggests) a general store for the residents of  Bedford Park, and for a while home to H.J. Mulliner & Co coachbuilder for Rolls Royce. Does anyone know any more about its current fate?

The teams at the Tabard pub and the Tabard Theatre have been trying to find out more for many months, without success. It’s one of the original public buildings of Bedford Park, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, and we would love to bring it back into community use in some way. Strangely the western end of the building is actually part of the Tabard.

I can't find any original source for this but I have it in my head that it was ultimately to be incorporated into the refurbished ArtsEd in some way.
