Paying for parking by phone

I need to download an app for central London.  Which app is best?

The text is an option that you pay for - I think you have to choose whether you want one.

..and both phone services send a text alert near the end of your booked time so you can extend remotely it if you want to.

PayByPHone sends you an email confirming that your session has started.

One benefit of using the apps is that you can see how much time is left on your parking, and it tends to be faster than phoning.Word of caution ... always make sure you have activated your session. It's relatively easy to put in the info, select your duration, but miss the last step, and actually start the session! If you see a clock counting down, you've done it correctly.

I use both these parking companies, depending where I am and which one operates in the area, but I stick with phoning the numbers rather than using an app and they both work perfectly well and are far more convenient than putting coins or cards in a slot.

RingGo seems to be the most common but annoyingly whenever I use the RingGo app it needs to update and I have to enter my payment card info again.

The above information is for on-street parking by the way. From the looks of it, I think that Camden is also on RingGo.I have both apps on my phone as you can't use Ringo to get parking in Ealing or Hounslow.

Thanks Andrew, I will register with both.  I have to drop some things off in Chelsea.  Under normal circumstances I don’t drive into that part of town.

It's likely to be RingGo.Use the RingGo app to pay to park across London in Westminster, Bexley, Brent, Bromley, City of London, Croydon, Fulham, Hackney, Hammersmith, Haringey, Islington, Kingston, Merton, Redbridge, Richmond, Sutton, Tower Hamlets, and Wandsworth.The other big one is Paybyphone, which is used by some of the london boroughs including Ealing, Hounslow.Not sure which app works in Camden though.
