The M&S refurb has begun

I swear the final (sourdough) baguette can't have been cool before the trucks were on the High Road offloading materials and setting up what I suspect is an anti-traveler barrier? Let's hope the builders don't move onto another job, as is often the case (or maybe that's just my bad luck).

I wonder where M&S customers are going during the refurb.  Another M&S? Waitrose?I went to Sainsbury for my alternative ‘top up shop’ the other day and wasn’t that impressed, mostly because of a lack of staff to help at the  self checkouts. Anyone else like to share?

They have put containers on the car park by their rear entrance. I thought they needed planning permission to do this even though it their own land? You need to be careful when parking in the Bond Street car park as construction vehicles seem to be often blocking the exit.

Reminds me a bit of the 'Ring of Steel' in the City. Not sure how travellers would get in, even without the concrete blocks. It looks like this will be a pretty intensive project with people on the site most of the time and I'm sure Marks will have 24/7 security.
