Just received a parking violation ticket for Saturday 7th June. It does not give any details of car, time or place but asks me to press ‘Y’ and then shut down and then enter a new address. The headline address is a man’s name with 4 numbers. I didn’t use my car at all over the weekend but this follows the same pattern as the EVRI scam saying a parcel can’t be delivered due to incomplete address. My mistake is not taking a screenshot before deleting the message. These scammers are really persistent, the 4th in 2 weeks.

I was surprised to see a notice on the front door of a Turnham Green Terrace eaterie ... that they're no longer accepting Scottish Banknotes because of a surge in forgeries. How shocking. One hour later ... I shopped at a Sainsburys Store in Brentford and the Cashier confirmed the story there too.

They are trying just about everything now, bank accounts, credit cards, mobile phone accounts, mostly saying you will be charged for late payment, don't open them, if you have any of the accounts they mentioncheck with them first.

Oh no. A new one telling me I am eligible to receive the winter fuel payment for the year 24/25.Same method - press ‘Y’ then sign into a different address to get your payment. This one is particularly mean

They seem to be texting more than calling people now.

Funnily enough I have just received another parking penalty, this time for last Monday. This time it is from a ‘ceasarpollardduo@outlook.s a’- that’s Saudi. The https://www.onlineofficialar.xin/gov was at the bottom.I looked this up on my phone which is an official payment site but is gov.ukThere followed the usual threats of if you don’t pay or are persistently ignoring … you will be prosecuted…This time I have taken a screenshot. Interesting that these demands are appearing on my iPad messages but not on my iPhone. My provider is O2 and has a notice below in blue which says report junk. I always use this but never had any feedback

Hi Elizabeth, you can forward the scam text to 7726 which then allows your provider to investigate it and potentially do something about it. Likewise dodgy emails can be forwarded to report@phishing.gov.uk They’re both linked to the National Cyber Security Centre …. Which you can Google and read about all their other tips and suggestions for online security😊
