Mmmm. I think the LibDems would have got it wrong then, as usual, because surely the Westminister would be responsible for the Bristol area, or Somerset as a whole, whereas Cornwall and Devon would be under the Southwestminister?

People from outside the area sometimes assume that the first part of "Isleworth" is pronounced like the "Isle" in Isle of Wight.

It's been pronounced Marleybone for centuries, Vanessa, just as Leicester is pronounced Lester, Gloucester Gloster and so on. It's an English habit to contract such names.

It's another one of those places that people cannot pronounce correctly, my particular annoyance being Marylebone - reduced to 'Marleybone' - Grrrrrrrr.
