I once knew a lovely old boy named Bill, an inoffensive teetotaller who owned a pebbledash house right on the doorstep of Loftus Road. When asked if he ever watched the Rangers he took fright and said he despised QPR, never entered their ground; but regularly took the bus to Griffin Park instead to watch his beloved Bees.I doubt whether Bill is around now, if he were he would be proud of his team today playing at the bus stop in Hounslow.Today's Brentford supporters might like to know that their team, founded in 1889 won their first trophy just 4 years later, the Middlesex Junior Cup.I suspect not many people know that.
