Please could someone tell me if the towpath between Kew and Richmond is now open? I know that a part of it washed away last year, but I haven’t read that it has been fixed yet. Thank you

I don't think there is confusion about who is responsible for the repair - Richmond is leading the project. There could be two perfectly good reasons as to why the job hasn't been done yet - firstly it may be impractical to do the work over the winter months and secondly, it could be that they are looking at a longer term more durable solution than simply rebuilding the river wall.

It beggars belief that the repair work has not been carried out. I guess an argument over who pays. Could be like Hammersmith Bridge. Opening new retail premises in Brentford. Large numbers use the towpath.

Yes the video I see a while back looks like the water travels fast there which will make it worse.

I'm not an expert here but I saw the damage from the beginning in person. Looking at that video months on it is indeed big so no doubt time has made the job a lot lot bigger

There is an update from a local councillor on youtube. This is going to take months more. The gap is massive. The path is closed east from just by Richmond Lock.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNBwELF2hWM

I don't believe it has and, as I understand it, the funding isn't yet in place for a permanent repair so it may remain closed for some time.
