Also jeans used to be cool to wear now with the stretch ones they can make you feel hot, they might fit better but find them uncomfortable in summer.

The problem with cotton is the tremendous amount of water that is used to make it - let alone the chemicals used when growing it. That makes it important to look after it and reuse and repair as much as you can. When it is too holey you can recycle it for rags or the worms in the wormery will eat it.How I just loathe all those jeans that have been made and then had most of the wear worn out of them before they hit the shops all tattered with extra holes pre-made. We used to buy our jeans when they were stiff like cardboard and needed to wear them until they were soft. Nothing better and so much better value! Recycle Now has added the WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Plan) information on looking after your clothes - something no-one should grow up and leave home without knowing!https://www.recyclenow.com/recycle-an-item/clothing-textilesThe WRAP 'Love your Clothes' campaign ran years ago but remains important and can be found with a lot more info at the bottom of the website page above.

The only retailers where I have seen 100% cotton is some of Morrisons clothing which I purchased during lockdown and now always buy their leggings, or Primark I buy towels and throws from there they lasta long time and wash well.

Fashions come and go! Anna missed out the obvious linen and sackcloth. There's a newer one called lyocell and also material made out of pineapple fibre and fruit peels. There used to be material made out of nettles in the Museum for London. I think the Romans were wearing this. Uniforms were made out of this in WW1.That's without looking anything up!

My Mum decided that Bri Nylon was the thing to wear and so she bought us nylon pyjamas and nylon bedsheets. Geting into bed was interesting as the static electricity caused our hair to stand on end and the shiny nylon pyjamas / bedsheets meant we slid in at the top of the bed and shot out of the bottom.
Chris Blackwell ● 1d
Now thinking about school shirts, as my Mum had limited vision we had to dress in front of a mirror to check we had dressed properly, it has stayed with me all my life, and if I go to hospital or doctors and there is no mirrorto get dressed it really gets me flustered and find it difficult to dress withouta mirror as you can see what your doing, odd I know but things in life stay with you.
Most go for a easy care materials, who wants to stand ironing for hours,
I gave up wearing polyester socks when I first heard Anna say that man made fabrics were derived from plastic and that our clothes were seeping into our pores. These days I simply pour crude oil directly into my shoes and slide my feet in to the gorgeous gooey ooze. Lovely in the Winter because you can use warm oil from your car's sump but I have yet to experoence this in the Summer.Only side effect is the state of my sheets but I'd rather that than have plastic on my brain.
That was probably when the big oil companies discovered that it was the burning of fossil fuels that was causing problems and they then decided to keep quiet about it so as not to dent their profits. We could have done with the extra time to work towards more and better solutions. Big Oil Big Business Big Problem.

Now I understand (how some people get it so wrong).No. A pinecone does not represent the Fibonacci Sequence. The Fibonacci Sequence represents (describes) the mathamatical formula for the growth of a pinecone (and many other things in nature.

Pippy - I did make clear I was giving some examples, why dont you research the full list for other forumers and post it. Make yrself useful lassie !

Some fabrics and tissues are made from bamboo.
Janice Evans ● 3d
There are a lot more natural fibres being worn all the time than that!!! More are also being created as part of the Circular Economy too.
Philippa Bond ● 3d
Examples of natural fibres are - silk, wool, cotton.Every fabric that ISNT made from a natural fibre - is made out of petroleum. Therefore - polyester, acrylic, nylon, spandex are all derived from fossil fuels !
Anna Kirkpatrick ● 4d
Polyester is basically plastic clothing. When we get warm our skin pores open up. The microplastics from the polyester sink through our skin into our bodies. We currently have around a spoons worth of plastic in our brain.. :(
The Club Of Rome was the organisation that came up with the plan for the climate hoax and decarbonization. The Club Of Rome was a think tank founded in 1968 at the magnificent Italian estate of David Rockefeller, it also came up with the idea for depopulation and the transhumanist agenda. The plans sprung from ideas of the oil barons of Rockefeller in the 1950ies when they realised 'climate disaster fear' had super potential as a control tool over the peasants ( thats us). And the rest is history folks...
Very good Richard and Janice.

What's wrong with safety first when there is so much at stake? I don't think that it did stop everything anyway as they do have some backups. Maybe they don't have enough green alternative energy installed themselves? It has certainly been a very great mistake to rely on so much Russian energy!Perhaps we need some more swimming pools (there's a distinct lack of public ones in the UK) so we can use them to cool data processors and warm the swimming pools?https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/jan/15/energy-innovation-could-heat-150-uk-swimming-pools-after-200m-investmenthttps://theconversation.com/heathrow-closure-what-caused-the-fire-and-why-did-it-bring-down-the-whole-airport-expert-panel-252834
aha - lithium batteries exploded and caused the fire that shut down Heathrow airport recently. Lithium was used instead of diesel - to appease the netzero nutters.welcome to clown world.

Achieving a first in physics doesn't make you an expert in other fields. What is your great achievement, Anna ? Shilling for "Ras" Putin ?
Richard Greenhough ● 14d
Piers achieved a first in physics at Imperial College. What is your great achievement Richard ? - shilling for Hounslow council / shilling for Hillary Clinton ? shilling for whoever is willing to pay your grocery bill in Asda I suppose..
Anna Kirkpatrick ● 14d
Do you really think that your chum "Ras" Putin would be bounced into anything because of the deaths of 186 children, given the numbers of people, including children, who have been killed as a result of his invasion of Ukraine ? But then, any information coming from one of the Corbyn family would be immediately suspect.
This info came from the scientist Piers Corbyn at a lecture I attended last month - Piers was in attendance at meetings leading upto the Kyoto Protocol and the Russian scientific team told Piers that Putin was adamant he would not be signing up to that protocol; some time later Piers was stunned to see on the tv that Putin was actually signing it. Piers phoned his Russian counterpart to find out why, the scientist told Piers that he couldnt speak with him and would only say one word to him, that word was 'Beslan' - referencing the tragedy where 186 Russian children had been killed. Basically Putin was bounced into signing Kyoto by terrorism. And this folks - is how some bas*ard governments out there get their way in the world : (
- Rootin' Tootin' Pootin'lol. Im starting to sound like LBC radio - listen to them now n then 4 a giggle at the propaganda
Do you have any proof of this Anna? They killed innocent people did they? With Geo Engineering? Why would they do that when the people who presumably created the poisonous climate change are breathing the same air?You do realise that anybody can post anything online right? I once posted a video of my son when he was 7 being chased by one of his friends dressed as Freddy Krueger but that doesn't mean that Freddy is real.

Putins name reversed is Nitup which means two faced, is that correct or am I doing an Anna.
Janice Evans ● 14d
Anna's chum "Ras" Putin gets everywhere, including your kitchen - the packaging for the lasagne I had last night read "Putin oven". ;-)
Last year was the hottest one recorded. Our old homes need insulation and ventilation to keep them warmer in winter and cooler in summer. We need to be prepared for the sudden harder downpours which cause flash flooding that hotter weather causes.

Climate change was a lie. They killed innocent people and wildlife by poisoning the air and earth. They used weather as a weapon of war against us. www.rumble.com 'The Dimming' www.geoengineeringwatch.org
https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/nov/20/blackrock-climate-human-rightsYou don't think that that just might also be because of an OECD complaint alleging that they have increased investments in companies implicated in environmental devastation?

Phillipa - the climate change scam is failing due to funding getting pulled by Blackrock , so in that case I wonder who is funding you to shill about this stuff ????!
https://www.independent.co.uk/climate-change/nasa-sea-levels-rise-2024-report-b2714693.htmlLast year's sea level rise was more than expected. What do you do when the country you live in is made up of low lying coral atolls and increased temperatures lead to greater storms, storm surges and salt water contamination of your fresh water and soil? There's a brilliant RSC play on for a short run at Soho Place - London's newest theatre (opp Tottenham Court Road tube) with great reviews called Kyoto. It's about the Kyoto Protocol.

1. A pinecone with its spiral structure represents the Fibonacci Sequence - a mathematical pattern that governs growth in nature(sunflowers, shells etc ) Its spiral resonates with the frequencies of expansion and evolution. In esoteric traditions the pinecone is the humans 'third eye' - resonating with the frequencies of intuition and a higher consciousness that is sometimes associated with the God frequency -963hz in sound healing.

but try and repair or rehome first. Chiswick has a repair cafe and I hear that there is still an electrical repair shop. When buying new you can usually take back the electrical/electronic item to the shop that you bought it from. They are delivering? Check out their website as they make collect the original you are replacing or even other electricals at the same time. Sometimes it is a small fee BUT sometimes they will give you a small discount off a new item.
you no longer want. We have laws here re producer responsibility so that the earth's finite resources are not incinerated and lost forever. This will also save homes and communities being destroyed and uprooted by mining works and any exploitative action.
I guess this forum has now become Anna's official platform to spout nonsense, conspiracy theories and assorted hokum.Been fun while it lasted.
