My little garden birdies are spoiled rotten! Hanging feeders with suet balls, peanuts, no grow seed mix, dried mealworms and suet blocks. The ground feeding birds enjoy ready peck suet pellets with insects and mealworms. And the squirrels get peanuts on the ground. Trouble is, the big garden birdies, pigeons and woodies, have a tendency to charge in and scoff up a tad too much of the suet pellets. But I don't overly mind as they all deserve to have nicely fed tummies at the end of the day.Simon, I would be interested to know what cage you bought to deter those pesky parakeets! I bought the Heritage Caged Fat Ball feeder, but they still manage to just about get their greedy little beaks in and demolish the balls in a day! I bought a very good water pistol on Amazon which deters them for a while, but then they all come flying back undeterred and ready for more!I buy all my bird food from Ivel Valley online. An excellent company with a very fast delivery. They make a lot of the food on their farm.Anyway, I'm just off out to top up their feeders, water pistol at the ready!
