The reality, Labour talked the economy down when they came into power and the tax rises announced in October has blown a hole in the retail and hospitality sector. We all prayed that old Labour had gone tax rises and spending has normally been their thing. Guess what the economy is not safe with Labour and the latest figures prove it. RR and KS need to think long and hard because the very people they claim to protect workers will suffer the most, unless you are a train driver on a 4 day week. 2025 is going to be rough on hard working families and it will do nothing to lift children out of poverty, super sad.

Rachel Thieves failing miserably revised figures reveal. “The downbeat economic readings provide a blow to Chancellor Rachel Reeves and the Government’s hopes to grow the economy rapidly.Ms Reeves promised to turbocharge economic growth after Labour won the July election but has now seen the economy stall over the three months to September, while official figures earlier this month also pointed towards a 0.1% decline in October.Monday’s downward revision was partly linked to a weaker performance across the important services industry.”

Angela is not here to answer,which might be a good thing given the Opps post.Likely knows as much about housing as milliband and the green agenda. Meanwhile the GVMT is tanking by the week and are in the process of removing peoples vote in the local elections. "Windsor and Maidenhead residents could be hit by a 25% council tax rise" Oh hold on,possibly no vote for them either. I wonder why

Govt needs to make sure that the Planning and Building Regs are up to standard first as well as proper supervision of works taking place.  There was a building featured on here which had been converted and which had a lot of problems.  Bad accommodation can cause a lot of stress and bad feelings between the people living there as well as the neighbourhood.

There must be a huge amount of office space available along with high street shops let’s convert them to residential that make much more sense, less cost so more chance of offering affordable housing. This government is using a sledge hammer to crack a nut completely useless and Angela Rayner is clueless.

The point is it's early days, admittedly many are not happy with decisions made so far, me as well regarding farmers,  They do need to listen to concerns raised.

It’s not a matter of ‘wait and see’. The citizens aren’t some sort of experiment or Guinea Pigs. Government ministers are paid to do a job.

I accept that but ignoring local opposition and some of the places reported are not exactly appropriate for immigrants they need to be able to work if legal so building in rural areas really doesn’t appear to be appropriate and they need to be affordable. What developers are interested if they can’t make money? It’s more social housing that we need which suits cities or larger towns so people can work, educate their kids etc. integrate into the community etc. AR hasn’t thought it through it’s just a headline gimmick which isn’t helpful for anyone. There is talk about a development on a flood plain that’s ridiculous.

But every Government has failed to provide for immigrants, at least she is brave enough to talk about it instead of ignoring it completely even if she is not able to do it, won't be entirely her fault would it, regarding RR I'm notsure she keeps saying shes not happy about anything so far, neither areOthers, have to wait and see.

It’s scary she wants social housing which is fine built in areas where they can get work, plus all the support services but I don’t think that is what she is saying she hasn’t got a clue. But then none of them have. Read a report about farmers IHT given many will have to sell up or sell land, many will have to let staff go so the figures end up minus so RR doesn’t have a clue either. Deer Keir he isn’t doing too well, bless him.

All Governments have failed in providing for immigrants, howeverthe last one had to build hospitals in great urgency which they did, Angela is the only one who has shown interest in providing more homes that's why I hope she succeeds. Good for her.

Sky News presenter Trevor Phillips pointed out that while Rayner wants to add homes for 4.3 million people, Labour is also encouraging 2.5 million other people to the UK over the same period via immigration.He said: “Are you content that more than five out of seven homes will go to immigrants?”“That’s not the truth. That’s not the reality,” she replied.But the presenter asked where this new influx of people are supposed to live.Rayner said: “There’s plenty of housing in the UK, but the houses –”Phillips hit back: “Hang on! You can’t on one hand say, ‘let’s build 1.5m houses’ and then say ‘there’s plenty of housing already’.”She replied: “There is plenty of housing Trevor, but there’s not enough for the people who desperately need it.“So the homes, especially under our social affordable housing, they will be there for people who desperately need them.”He said: “This doesn’t quite make sense. You start the interview by telling me there’s a housing crisis.“When I remind you that you have said yourself as a government we need 2.5 million migrants – some of them by the way are going to build this new housing – suddenly, there’s a lot of housing.“Where are these people going to go?”
