Fuselodge

Nirmal Sabarwal is closing Fuselodge, his  business on Acton Lane, this hot on the heels of City Radio in Ealing. Two long-established businesses that have delivered wonderful service, particularly repairs, to the local community. Rayats Plumbing, electrical and DIY closed last week after over fifty years and with Wolseys bikes going as well I do fear for the future of the small independent retailer.

Another very sad piece of news for those of us who have grown up with parents and grandparents with initiative and skills who fixed and mended things and have an interest in how things work.

They provided a brilliant service. Repair cafes might fill the gap somewhat but nobody working there will have the expertise of these men.

Very sad to see Fuselodge go. I have used it and recommended it on many occasions. A unique and old fashioned service which stopped things being thrown away. The brothers will be very much missed,as will their Aladin's Cave of electrical treasures.I hope that they enjoy their well deserved rest.
