Hasn't  Nasrat Ghani MP done well.

Watching a video of business being conducted in the House of Commons the other day ... I was both surprised and delighted to see M/sGhani sitting in the Speaker's Chair!She was seen around Chiswick quite a lot back in 2010'ish at the time Mary Macleod MP was busy at the local Conservative Offices.I believe that Nasrat lived in North Chiswick at the time.Her elevation to being an MP for Sussex Weald since 2015 was a great achievement. To now be a Deputy Speaker is a wow wow happening.Hasn't she done well.

Like a good soccer referee she was cool, calm and collected this week.Unlike the dreadful John Berkow and Lindsay Hoyle (who has his attention grabbing moments).

I agree, Nusrat Gani is a class act as Deputy Speaker. Calm and fully in control of the House she brings to mind the much missed Betty Boothroyd. Nusrat appears to not even have to raise her voice while politely putting members of the awkward squad in their place. She also appears to enjoy the job!
