Notwithstanding the inconvenience to many people of not being able tohave a bus service eastbound from the Chiswick Flyover to Turnham Green (along Chiswick High Road, I must say that I find the detour passing Churchfield Court, Harvard Hill, seeing the Self Storage place, the Porsche Showroom, the old Sutton Farm cottage, the glimpse of where the United Dairies use to be,the Methodist Church, and the changes along Sutton Court Road ...very interesting... as I lived around that area during the 1940s 1950s and most of the 1960s and having been born in Wolseley Gardens before WW2!Swinging left onto Heathfield Terrace and then right into Sutton Lane North ...one is able to see the vastness of the Watchfield Court estate, the Church hall, Fromows's Corner and the Rhythm & Brews Coffee Shop. That parade of elegant tall houses, including Stanley Villa where I once lived and old Doctor Dunston's surgery further along. If that wasn't enough... there's then the old Corona Academy School building (for dance and arts) and finally the Arlington Mansions with the Blue Plaque for E M Forster. You might find the detour boring ...but for me (without a car these days) it's a detour not to be missed. There's so much to observe.
