After visiting the glorious Snappy Snaps shop this late afternoon ...I decided to stand on the pavement on the Chiswick High Road corner with Turnham Green Terrace to see how vehicles and cyclists behave.Within 30 seconds a cyclist raced out of TGT on a green light and entered Annadale Road across the junction ... Annadale being a one way street.He mounted the narrow pavement over there ... did a 'U turn' ... went through the "red" traffic light...and sped off on the cycle lane towards Hammersmith.This cyclist completely ignoredthe traffic regulations and other people's safety.I then travelled by bus to Brentfordwhere, near that Macdonald's bus island, the first cyclist to cross my path ... a Delivery chap ... had no lights on and was a danger too.I shouted at him ... to no avail.These cyclists are annoying pests...supported by an equally annoying none-PC PCWhere are the Authorities?

Yes Chris is quite a distinguished drummer who is mentioned by at least one legend in a biography. But musos of a certain vintage voted for Brexit and then complained afterwards about the difficulties it created for ageing British rockstars touring in Europe. being a musician doesn't stop you being a dipshit.

Ah you wanted something more recent? Houses not wearing hi-vis and coming out of nowhere are actually a fairly routine occurrence. So much so there is even a website dedicated to just one brand of cars crashing into houses. 
But here you go. Twickenham earlier this year. I have a folder dedicated to this kind of thing so always happy to oblige. 👍

Cars crashing in narrow streets ... probably caused by avoiding a cyclist doing something stupid like having no lights, riding the wrong way, pulling out unexpectedly, doing a wheelie and so on, possibly all at the same time.It's also interesting how Paul is all in favour of youngsters breaking the rules on a bike but is totally against it when they are in a car, almost as if cyclists doing unexpected things are not a danger to pedestrians or motorists at all.

Well yeah you build risk prevention measures for things that actually happen rather than things a bunch of miserable crusties imagine might happen.So you should definitely be in favour of geo-limiters for cars so drivers stop flipping them onto their roofs.

Feel free to share that one with me when it happens. Usually it is women who are crushed by HGVs who turn across them on their bikes at junctions. Like the pregnant woman killed on Chelsea Embankment. I have a lot of sympathy for her and her family.

If only there was a way for the driver to avoid hurting themselves and their passenger by flipping their car on its roof on a narrow residential street during the morning rush hour. Zero sympathy.  But glad they didn’t hurt any innocent victims outside their car. Hopefully they learned a valuable lesson and won’t kill anybody in the future.

Yeah especially that woman at the end with the basket who stops to let the pedestrian cross before pootling through the red. Absolutely terrifying. As an aside I love those boys who ride around central London pulling wheelies and breaking all the rules. I often see them in huge pelotons on my commute. Nothing like some rebellious youth to wind up the miserable crusties.

That's a great posting Julian.It really is astounding what's happening with those dangerous cyclists around.One presumes the situation will just get worse.I'm anxious just getting off a bus these days and even more so at bus islands where I need to cross a two-way cycle lane, after darkness, being careful not to crash into a cyclist with no lights and who ignores the mini zebra crossing that's there for our benefit.The Authorities need a shake up.
