We have a compete set, around 1980, in excellent condition. Does anyone want an instant library? Any ideas as to what we can do with them to make the best use of the set?

I have always thought that the Britannica was a rip off but having seen how many volumes there are, they were probably a bargain at the time. There are around 50 volumes. The Princess Alice charity shop in Hounslow will take them. Ultimately if they can’t sell them they will get some money for the recycling by weight. I spoke to them this afternoon. They have an undercover car port to the rear of their shop to drop off donations.N/T Polesden Lacy, book shop, had said they would take them but when I rang to confirm the girl nearly fainted when I said how many volumes. It was a definite no.

Sold prices on eBay range from £30-55, better than nothing.

Probably worthless. I inherited an earlier set from an uncle. Ended up in recycling.

It's free to sell on eBay now, so you lose nothing except, perhaps, a bit of time.
I’ve got the same set. You could try selling on eBay or try a second hand bookshop such as skoob.

Oxfam Books is unlikely to keep a 1980 Enc Britannica as nobody is likely to buy it.

Oxfam will always take books in good condition.
