cayenne pepper and beetroot increase our red blood cells and uptake of oxygen. Cayenne pepper is available in all Chiswick supermarkets. Beetroot isnt just for salad fans - beetroot powder can be added to smoothies, cereals etc, you can find beetroot powder in The Source Bulk Foods, 24 Turnham Green Terrace.Nitric oxide increases blood flow and balances blood pressure, found in beetroot,( again) ,walnuts,pumpkin seeds,sesame seeds,turkey, seaweed - look for nori crackers in the supermarket for snacks.

Cycling has long-term benefits when it is not seen only as a leisure pursuit or fitness activity but incorporated into daily lifestyle. Cycle with your kids to school, cycle to the shops, the pub, cinema, dinner. Cycle to work. And lobby your Councillors and Council to install cycle lanes on main roads and LTns on residential rat runs to make it safe and pleasant to do all of this all the time. Don’t worry about kit or styrofoam helmets.  Just jump on any old bike in your jeans or skirt. You’ll be happier within days if only because of the schadenfreude at coasting past all the raging cagers fuming about being stuck in the traffic they are creating with their luxury SUVs and watching you get home half an hour before they do.
