Pay By Phone App - Ealing

I'm now getting messages that my IPhone 7 may no longer work with the Park By Phone App which is used to pay for parking in Ealing Borough. It is recommending to use the web as an alternative but I haven't been able to work out how to pay for visitor permits.As far as I am aware Ealing only do digital visitors permits now and I may not be able to book people in to park. I'm sure I won't be the only one who is in this situation.Councils should be required to insist on backward compatibility when they work with an app provider otherwise people who don't need or can't afford the latest phone are going to find it difficult to have visitors.

You can pay for visitors' parking using the PayByPhone website.  Log in to your account. On the main page, at the top right, click on the menu button (3 horizontal lines), then click on Permits.  The Permits page should show "Zone * Resident Visitor London Borough of Ealing - Park with this Permit" and then click on Park with this Permit to complete parking date, duration, registration, etc.

You might be right Julian. My policy on phones is only to replace when key apps stop working. Everything is just fine on the iPhone 7 with the exception of some of the new AI tools which I would be unlikely to use. The Pay By Phone app is the first to give an indication it is about to stop working.Do you know if it is just my ineptitude or if it is actually not possible to park visitors using the web?

I get your point but this is the reason why and would have nothing to do with Ealing or the operator of the App"The iPhone 7's iOS update limit is iOS 15.8.3, as of October 18, 2024. Apple stopped providing feature upgrades for the iPhone 7 with the release of iOS 16. However, the iPhone 7 still receives iOS 15 security updates."
