E3 buses

Just to let you all know that the E3 bus is on diversion until next Wednesday, and are not stopping on either The Avenue or Southfield Road, due to a burst water main. There are no bus stop closed signs over them, just a notice of diversion in the timetable cabinet. I had to tell a lady about it today, as she had already been waiting there for over 20 minutes and had no clue (despite seeing the TfL employee put the notice behind the glass, who said nothing to her). This is in addition to no District Line trains from Turnham Green and surrounding stations this weekend. A rail replacement service is in operation, but will take far longer, so allow extra time for your journey... or don't bother travelling at all!

I have taken the E3 today, and the driver did indeed follow the diversion route. Perhaps some drivers are ignoring the diversion then?

I used the E3 twice today, though not that bit, and at no time did the drivers mention being on diversion.

Thanks for the update. I saw an E3 bus going down the Avenue a few hours ago. Even the bus drivers appear to be ignoring the restriction.

The road is 'shut' between Strauss Road and St. Alban's Avenue. I use inverted commas because there is no work ongoing and most drivers are just ignoring the road closed signs and driving straight through. The buses are still on diversion.

I assume somewhere on Southfield Road, as there are road closed and diversion signs in the roads by the shops at the top of The Avenue, pointing back down it.

Where is the water main burst. I noticed a lot of cars ratrunning through residential roads walking home this evening but couldn't work out where the closure was.

Just to clarify, the E3 stops at Turnham Green Station and then goes down South Parade and Acton Lane, stopping at Meon Road or Petersfield Road, depending on the direction.
