Just looking in a catalogue at Xmas food prices Turkey Pembrokeshire free range £95, Angus 4 bone king Arthur £120-165. Loads more at similar prices. Any thoughts?

Ted Heath that's going back it probably would have been enough to buy a whole Turkey in the 70s

Wasn’t it Ted Heath who gave pensioners the extra tenner as a ‘one-off’. No one has been brave enough to remove it. As pensioners have benefited from the triple lock perhaps now is the time. I think fancy Turkeys have been around £100 for a few years. Asda’s are usually highly rated about half that price as are Waitrose for a bit more than half.

Are you sure, it can be sweet, I don't like sweet food but if you do you mightlike it.

Funny you should say that. In the catalogue they have a nice nut roast which I shall have.

You might get two for that or 4 feet to chew on.
As a pensioner I am looking forward to receiving my tax free Xmas bonus of £10, never increased since first granted. I should be greatfull this Labour Government has not yet abolished it. It may buy a leg of my Xmas turkey.

I suppose it depends how many you are cooking for.

Just pay for it if that’s what you want. Cut expenses elsewhere to make up the deficit.
