It has been suggested to me that part of the problem with both the Lloyds and Nat West premises is that they both would require significant structural work relating to the configuration that was necessary to operate as a bank and the landlords want new tenants to take on the cost. However, in the current environment, very few potential tenants would want to take up such a big upfront costs.This isn't necessarily an insuperable problem as the Nat West on Acton High Street has recently been converted into a restaurant but it may be that these units will be vacant for a long time.
