Are Ealing Council bluffing on parking enforcement?

I'm sure I am not alone in finding the current dispute between Ealing Council and their traffic wardens as mystifying. It is also unclear exactly what enforcement is taking place at the moment. I've been keeping an eye out and haven't seen a single yellow ticket on any vehicle for the last three weeks and there is no sign of the wardens. Ealing Council says enforcement is taking place but there is scant evidence of this happening.

I think that is probably right. I hadn't seen a ticket for a while but have spotted a few towards the end of last week. Not enough to confirm enforcement is back up to full levels but sufficient to discourage taking a chance on getting away with not booking a visitor in.

I definitely noticed more yellow tickets on cars yesterday than I have seen for a while.

Ealing is refusing to recognise Unite and is using 'scab labour' (not my words) to break the strike, albeit to limited effect. Parking workers have been protesting at Labour group meetings in Ealing.

The council is refusing to recognise Unite  to represent the parking enforcement workers, which seems odd  for a Labour council.

It is unclear. According to an earlier report on this site the strike days were being rotated between staff and the latest article says that the council are bringing in temporary staff to issue tickets.
