Greggs Plans to Move Next Door on High Road

This is an excellent idea!  When I passed Greggs in Chiswick High Road the other day, I thought to myself that the current shop is just a little bit too pokey to entice me in.  The move to the new, larger site next door will definitely be more of an inducement to sample Greggs' produce.  It's also good to know that the former Santander (?) premises will be put to use once again.

I wish someone would open up a proper bagel bakery.Bagels made on site and baked in a wood fired oven. Fridges full of cream cheese, smoked salmon and other things to put on it on sale as well.Dreaming in colour I guess.....

Paul ( I think his name is ) - in Greggs is an absolute star, glad he s come back after disappearing from Chisk for a while; his character was much missed.There is always a queue in there - tells its own story,i.e. Greggs is a big hit with Chiswickians.

Most of their products are pretty poor imo.For a northern bakery they are a joke.There are many family and small concern bakers in Lancashire which knock spots off them.

At present the Chiswick branch is "takeaway only" I understand ...(which local 'tea leaves' will enjoy!).If the new shop becomes an "in house" eaterie too ... be prepared for messy tables and floorsif other branches are anything to go by.

The sausage rolls are passable if hot,which they rarely are.They are often tepid,which tends to make them slimy and 'orrible..The chocolate eclairs are half decent though.
