Hi Paul - firstly it’s good that no one was hurt. Secondly the accident was caused by a pedestrian - people should not jump in front of buses, scaring them.  Thirdly, I use bikes all the time but have had five bikes stolen.So we should ban all motor transport and bikes, and go back to horses.

As a child I was involved in two different bus accidents, traumatic, I hate the things, but mostly I remember the screams of other passengers.

“If it was to avoid hitting a pedestrian then well done the driver.”Indeed - and apparently the driver was in shock. Thoughts go out to him for avoiding serious injury or death.  It must have been traumatic.

This forum is bad it’s true but it’s like a rose garden compared to the toxic OneChiswick Facebook forum which incited hatred and violence against people for riding a bike and which is thankfully now pretty much defunct. I’m glad you are proud to own your role in that Margie but much gladder that your campaign against families cycling in Chiswick has failed.

Most buses have forward facing cameras. If this vehicle has one it should help to establish the reason for the accident.If it was to avoid hitting a pedestrian then well done the driver. Better to flatten a lamppost than a person.

The article covers all of London. The headline is about the City. Chiswick is the home of the ChiswickTractor now so it is a highly relevant piece. If it pisses off the velophobes then that’s just the icing on the cake. Go to bed anonymous troll.

I think you need to look up the word “troll”. Because it definitely doesn’t mean a real person using their real name posting photos and commenting on local events and ignoring most of the insults and abuse they receive from people who disagree with them. Buses are brilliant.  There were 1.8 BILLION passengers using buses in London for the 12 months ending 2023 and London buses travel 492 million km per year.  Sadly accidents involving buses are reasonable frequent but it is relatively rare for passengers to be seriously injured or killed.I hope this is one of the times where although there was an accident, no one was seriously hurt
