Oh dear! Another potty rant from St. Steve. As a pensioner, who also worked from the age of fifteen and paid my dues, this actually does affect me, we have all had to think about how we spend our income over the last couple of years, so there are things that we haven't done. At no time have I EVER claimed to be 'too feeble' to use self-service machines, like many people I object to having big companies foisting on customers things they were not asked about and don't like, my main gripe being the security of the people whose jobs are put at risk with the increasing use of these machines. So I 'don't give a toss' - don't I? Even though I am one of the people who will lose this allowance, just another thought, for those of us who paid in for a pension through our employment - we still also pay tax, but I'll bet quite few of us would be happy to pay a little more if it means we can get back to public services that actually work and are funded properly.
