Chances of Bedford Park explosion recede

I've just walked along South Parade and noticed a parking suspension by the junction with Newton Grove where the smell of gas has been noticeable for over a year and where they have put no smoking signs. Looks like they will be digging up the road tomorrow to find the leak as the notice says it is for gas works. Amazing what a bit of publicity can achieve.

I caught a hint of a smell of gas by Turnham Green this morning. People have mentioned it on hear before but this is the first time I've noticed it. Possibly fixing the pipe on Newton Grove/South Parade has increased pressure here. The sink hole that appeared nearby last year might point to bigger problems underneath the road.

Walked passed today and the work appeared to be finished. No Smoking signs have been removed. I did however catch the smell of gas just as I was crossing the zebra at Bedford Corner approaching the tube station.
